Let an assistant guide you

Ask an assistant to show you how to do something, "show me how to round the top edges", and it can walk you through it in your own window, one step at a time, instead of doing it for you.

Each step puts a pulsing ring on the button, field or part of the model to use, with a short caption beside it saying what to do. Do the step yourself. The assistant sees when you have started the tool, picked the edge or typed the value, and moves on to the next step. If a button is folded away, for example Fillet inside Modify, the ring sits on Modify until you open it and then moves to Fillet.

  • Next tells the assistant you are done with this step, when it is waiting for you rather than for something you do in the model.
  • Stop takes the ring and caption away at once and tells the assistant you stopped. It does not undo anything you did.

The guide shows in your window only while the Live document setting on the AI assistants page shares your document, either read only or with edits allowed (Share your document). It also needs a FundaCAD and an assistant connection new enough for guide mode; an older one says so rather than showing nothing.

Steps the assistant shows never change your document. Clean view does not hide them, and they are never part of a picture you save.

With Animations off in Preferences, Accessibility, or reduced motion set on your system, the ring stays still instead of pulsing.
