Split body¶

Split Body (K) cuts one body into pieces with a plane. It is under Modify on the rail.

1. Press K, then choose which side to keep: Both, Top or Bottom. Both gives two bodies, Top keeps the side the plane faces.
2. With more than one body, choose the body to split.
3. Click a plane or a flat face to cut by.
4. Drag the arrow or type an Offset to move the cut, then press Enter.

To cut every visible body with a datum plane, right-click the plane in the view and choose Cut all bodies. Selecting the plane and pressing K does the same.

Separate¶

Separate, next to Split Body, turns each loose piece of a body into a body of its own. Select the bodies first, or pick one from the list it shows. Each piece keeps the colour, material and element of the body it came from.
