Plugins¶
A plugin adds something not everyone needs, such as screws, textures or a link to your printer. All but two are on out of the box.
| Plugin | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Extra Parameters | Sliders, groups and saved sets of values |
| Fasteners | Screws, nuts, washers and inserts |
| Surface Texture | Knurling, ribs and other real textures |
| Node Bodies | Smooth solids built from sized points |
| 3D Printing Toolbox | Holes and edges that print without supports |
| Printer connection | Open a part in your slicer and send jobs |
| Printed look | Layer lines in the Realtime view |
| Multi-material | Filament slots, off by default |
| Game controller | Navigate with a gamepad |
| 3D mouse | Navigate with a 3D mouse |
| Reference images | A photo or drawing to sketch over |
| Onshape link | Import an Onshape document from its link, in the File menu |
| Mouse and keys | Mouse buttons for orbit and pan, a radial menu, your own shortcuts, off by default |
Turn a plugin on or off¶
Open Edit, Preferences, Plugins and flip its switch. Off deletes nothing, your work comes back when you switch it on again.
Remove deletes the plugin from your computer. Its settings stay unless you tick Remove forgets its settings.
Change its settings¶
Click Settings on the plugin's row.
- The Search plugin settings box finds a setting in any plugin.
- The arrow beside a changed setting puts that one back.
- Reset to defaults puts back all of that plugin's settings.
Install one¶
- Under Made by FundaCAD, press Install.
- Under Add a plugin, paste a web address and press Read it, or press Choose a file. FundaCAD shows what the plugin asks for, and installs it only when you press Install.
